Su designación desató fuertes controversias entre las finalistas, y escalo al grado de que hubo quienes hicieron acusaciones de presunto influyentismo a su favor. La situación develó la serie de tensiones que existen en la organización de este evento.

Terence Crawford es un boxeador estadunidense que acaba de hacer historia al derrotar al jalisciense Canelo Álvarez y arrebatarle el título de peso supermediano, con lo cual ya suma tres títulos unificados en distintas divisiones.

Crawford tuvo que subir dos divisiones para pelear con Canelo Álvarez, es decir 6.5 kilogramos para disputar esta pelea que ganó por unanimidad del jurado.

Terence Crawford is an American boxer who just made history by defeating Canelo Álvarez from Jalisco and taking the super middleweight title from him, giving him three unified titles in different weight classes.

Crawford had to move up two weight classes to fight Canelo Álvarez, or 6.5 kilograms, for this fight, which he won unanimously by the jury.

El orgullo de Jalisco es el título de la zarzuela de Federico Moreno Torroba que se reestrena este domingo 14 de septiembre en el Teatro Degollado. Después de casi ocho décadas del estreno de esta obra que contó en el elenco estelar con Pepita Embil, madre de Plácido Domingo, el público podrá disfrutar de esta zarzuela protagonizada en esta nueva versión por Nancy Fabiola Herrera y Luis Ledesma.

El reestreno ha sido posible gracias al investigador Rooney Josué hernández Villanueva quien la reescribió a partir de partituras y libretos originales cedidos por la familia del músico español.  La función cuenta con más de 130 artistas en escena, incluyendo 70 músicos de la Orquesta Sinfónica para la Escena de Jalisco y la Orquesta Típica del Estado, 50 integrantes del Estudio de Ópera de Jalisco, el Coro del Estado y el Coro del Tec de Monterrey, bajo la dirección musical de Allen Vladimir Gómez Ruiz, junto a 11 cantantes y actores. 

«El orgullo de Jalisco» is the title of Federico Moreno Torroba’s zarzuela, which premieres this Sunday, September 14th, at the Degollado Theater. Almost eight decades after the premiere of this work, which featured Pepita Embil, Plácido Domingo’s mother, in its stellar cast, audiences will be able to enjoy this zarzuela starring Nancy Fabiola Herrera and Luis Ledesma in this new version.

The revival was made possible thanks to Rooney researcher Josué Hernández Villanueva, who rewrote it based on original scores and librettos donated by the Spanish musician’s family. The performance features more than 130 artists on stage, including 70 musicians from the Jalisco Symphony Orchestra for the Stage and the State Typical Orchestra, 50 members of the Jalisco Opera Studio, the State Choir, and the Monterrey Tech Choir, under the musical direction of Allen Vladimir Gómez Ruiz, along with 11 singers and actors.
