Weaver es recordado por ser parte del elenco de las series El show de Bill Cosby y Canción triste de Hill Street, además de las películas O Brother! (2000), Donnie Darko (2001), o Virgen a los 40 (2005).

Actor Lee Weaver passed away at the age of 95 on September 22nd at his home in Los Angeles. However, his family only announced the news to the media this past weekend.

Weaver is remembered for his roles in the television series The Cosby Show and Hill Street Blues, as well as the films O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Donnie Darko (2001), and The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005).

Argentine writer Pablo Maurette won the Herralde Novel Prize, awarded by the Catalan publishing house Anagrama, for his novel El contrabando ejemplar (Exemplary Smuggling), earning him 25,000 euros.

The novel was selected from 892 manuscripts by a jury composed of Juan Pablo Villalobos, Silvia Sesé, Cecilia Fanti, Marta Sanz, and Gonzalo Pontón Gijón. Maurette is the author of two other novels: La migración (Migration, 2020) and La Niña de Oro (The Golden Girl, Anagrama, 2024), and four books of essays: El sentido olvidado. Ensayos sobre el tacto (The Forgotten Sense: Essays on Touch, 2015), La carne viva (Raw Flesh, 2018), Por qué nos creen los cuentos (Why We Believe Stories, 2021), and Atlas ilustrado del cuerpo humano (Illustrated Atlas of the Human Body, 2023). He has also contributed to media outlets in Argentina, the United States, Spain, Mexico, and Colombia.
