El mexicano Gonzalo Celorio (Ciudad de México, 1948) fue galardonado este lunes con el Premio Cervantes 2025. Ernest Urtasun, ministro de español de Cultura dijo: “En sus libros “resuenan la ironía, la ternura y la erudición, trazando un mapa emocional y cultural que ha influido en generaciones de lectores y escritores”.
Narrador, ensayista, cronista y una de las figuras más destacadas de la literatura mexicana contemporánea, Celorio es doctor en Lengua y Literaturas Hispánicas y está especializado en Literatura Hispanoamericana por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

El Premio Cervantes 2025, el más importante de las letras en español, está dotado con 125.000 euros (unos US$ 144.025) y este año celebra su quincuagésima edición.
El ganador recogerá su premio de manos de los reyes de España en una ceremonia solemne en el Paraninfo de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), que se celebra el 23 de abril, en coincidencia con el Día del Libro y la conmemoración del fallecimiento del autor del Quijote.

Mexican writer Gonzalo Celorio (Mexico City, 1948) was awarded the 2025 Cervantes Prize on Monday. Ernest Urtasun, Spain’s Minister of Culture, said: “His books resonate with irony, tenderness, and erudition, tracing an emotional and cultural map that has influenced generations of readers and writers.” A novelist, essayist, chronicler, and one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Mexican literature, Celorio holds a doctorate in Hispanic Language and Literature and specializes in Latin American Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

The 2025 Cervantes Prize, the most prestigious award in Spanish-language literature, comes with a cash prize of 125,000 euros (approximately US$144,025) and this year marks its fiftieth edition. The winner will receive his prize from the King and Queen of Spain in a solemn ceremony in the Paraninfo of the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), which takes place on April 23, coinciding with Book Day and the commemoration of the death of the author of Don Quixote.

Rose Diane Ladd was an American actress, director, producer, and screenwriter. She was born on November 29 in Laurel, Mississippi, and died at the age of 89 on November 3.

Ladd had an incredible 70-year career in film and television. She received numerous nominations, including three Academy Awards. Her last two films were Gigi & Nate and Isle of Hope, both released in 2022.
