El Ballet de Jalisco dirigido por Lucy Arce arrancó este 17 de diciembre una breve temporada de El Cascanueces que puede disfrutarse el 18 y 19 de diciembre a las 20:00 horas, el 20 de diciembre a las 19:00 horas y el 21 de diciembre a las 13:00 y 18:00 horas en el Teatro Degollado.
Se trata de un espectáculo en el que puede apreciarse a 80 bailarines en escena y un puñado de inños del área escolar del Instituto Cultural Cabañas, quienes representan a los ratones del ejército.
El ballet escrito por Iván Vsévolozhsky y maius Petipa, musicalizado por Tchaikovski, narra las aventuras de de la niña Clara que se desatan en una Nochebuena en que su muñeco Cascanueces cobra vida y viaja con ella a un mundo de fantasía.

The Jalisco Ballet, directed by Lucy Arce, began a short run of The Nutcracker on December 17th. Performances can be enjoyed on December 18th and 19th at 8:00 p.m., December 20th at 7:00 p.m., and December 21st at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Degollado Theater.

This performance features 80 dancers on stage and a group of children from the Cabañas Cultural Institute’s school program, who portray the army mice.

The ballet, written by Ivan Vsevolozhsky and Maius Petipa, with music by Tchaikovsky, tells the story of Clara’s adventures, which unfold on Christmas Eve when her Nutcracker doll comes to life and travels with her to a world of fantasy.

Rachael Carpani, a Sydney-born actress who appeared in nearly 180 episodes of the Australian drama McLeod’s Daughters, has died at the age of 45.
Carpani’s family confirmed her death on Instagram, writing that she had been suffering from a chronic illness for some time but passed away «unexpectedly» earlier this month.
She was part of the cast of the film The Hateful Alison Ashley and appeared in the series Scorched, Cane, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Glades, and Against the Wall.
