Stillman. Fotografía y cine, el título del libro elaborado por varios creativos entre los que destacan Eugenio Caballero y el curador Héctor Orozco bajo el sello de Fundación Televisa y RM que se presentó en el marco de la edición 41 del Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara en el Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara.
Según Orozco, el libro es el resultado de poco más de diez años de investigación sobre fotos fijas de producciones cinematográficas en México desde la primera mitad del siglo XX hasta la actualidad.
“Es una memoria visual muy importante de los sets de filmación en México y poseen en sí mismas un valor propio e independiente de los rodajes en las que fueron tomadas”, destacó el curador de arte.
Por otro lado, Caballero mencionó que esta compilación es muy valiosa porque en ocasiones una fotografía puede tener más fuerza que la película en la que fue tomada” y añadió: “Revisar todo este material me permitió reflexionar sobre los diversos usos que damos la fotografía en el desarrollo de una película, que son muchos. La fotografía fija no sólo documenta el cine, también lo resignifica”.

Stillman: Photography and Film, the title of the book created by several creatives, including Eugenio Caballero and curator Héctor Orozco, under the Televisa Foundation and RM imprint, was presented at the 41st Guadalajara International Film Festival at the Museum of Arts of the University of Guadalajara.

According to Orozco, the book is the result of just over ten years of research on still photographs from film productions in Mexico from the first half of the 20th century to the present.

“It is a very important visual record of film sets in Mexico, and the photographs themselves possess an intrinsic value, independent of the shoots in which they were taken,” the art curator emphasized. On the other hand, Caballero mentioned that this compilation is very valuable because sometimes a photograph can be more powerful than the film on which it was taken, and added: “Reviewing all this material allowed me to reflect on the diverse uses we give to photography in the development of a film, which are many. Still photography not only documents cinema, it also redefines it.”

Destino de Guerrero es el título del documental dirigido por Gonzalo Lamela inspirado en la vida del ex futbolista Carlos Salcido y que se presentó este jueves 23 en la edición 41 del FICG.

El filme, con una duración de 80 minutos, es una producción de ECOCINEMA que narra la trayectoria de Salcido desde sus orígenes humildes en Ocotlán, Jalisco, hasta su consolidación en el fútbol europeo y la Selección Mexicana.

Más allá de los logros deportivos, la obra se enfoca en la resiliencia y el carácter.

Debe recordarse que a los 23 años formó parte de la Selección Mexicana que ganó la Medalla de Oro en los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres al vencer a Brasil en la final de Wembley.

Fue bi campeón de la Eredivisie, de 2006 a 2008, ganó el trofeo Johan Cruyff en 2008, Campeón de la Copa de Oro 2011 y seleccionado mundialista en Alemania 2006, Sudáfrica 2010 y Brasil 2014, además de ser multicampeón con los clubes Chivas y Tigres.

Destiny of Guerrero is the title of the documentary directed by Gonzalo Lamela, inspired by the life of former soccer player Carlos Salcido, which premiered this Thursday, the 23rd, at the 41st edition of the FICG (Guerrero International Film Festival).

The 80-minute film, an ECOCINEMA production, chronicles Salcido’s journey from his humble beginnings in Ocotlán, Jalisco, to his rise in European soccer and with the Mexican National Team.

Beyond his sporting achievements, the film focuses on resilience and character.

It should be remembered that at 23, he was part of the Mexican National Team that won the Gold Medal at the London Olympic Games, defeating Brazil in the Wembley final.

He was a two-time Eredivisie champion, from 2006 to 2008, won the Johan Cruyff trophy in 2008, was a Gold Cup champion in 2011 and was a member of the World Cup squad in Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014, in addition to being a multi-champion with the Chivas and Tigres clubs.
