En el marco de la cuenta regresiva rumbo al Mundial, el vaso regulador Mártires de Cananea, ubicado en el fraccionamiento Revolución, se transformó en un colorido escenario donde el futbol y el arte urbano convergen. Cerca de 150 metros cuadrados fueron intervenidos por 30 artistas urbanos, quienes plasmaron murales alusivos a la máxima fiesta del balompié.

La intervención forma parte del programa “Graffitlaq, Rumbo al Mundial”, cuyo objetivo es revitalizar espacios públicos y convertirlos en puntos de encuentro cultural, explicó Leonardo Gómez Castro, titular del Instituto de la Juventud en Tlaquepaque.

Gómez Castro detalló que, a través de una convocatoria abierta a inicios de enero, se recibieron más de 60 solicitudes de artistas urbanos locales; sin embargo, debido a las dimensiones del espacio, solo 30 pudieron participar. Cada uno plasmó su propia interpretación de cómo se vivirá el Mundial en la ciudad.

En los murales destacan figuras emblemáticas del futbol nacional e internacional, tanto actuales como históricas. Los artistas apostaron por rendir homenaje a leyendas del deporte que ya no están en activo, como Hugo Sánchez, Pelé, así como a jugadores de distintas nacionalidades, integrando el futbol con escenas de la vida cotidiana.

As part of the countdown to the World Cup, the Mártires de Cananea retention basin, located in the Revolución neighborhood, was transformed into a vibrant space where soccer and urban art converge. Nearly 150 square meters were covered by 30 urban artists, who created murals alluding to the world’s biggest soccer event.

The project is part of the «Graffitlaq, Road to the World Cup» program, which aims to revitalize public spaces and transform them into cultural hubs, explained Leonardo Gómez Castro, head of the Youth Institute in Tlaquepaque.

Gómez Castro detailed that, through an open call in early January, they received more than 60 applications from local urban artists; however, due to the size of the space, only 30 could participate. Each artist created their own interpretation of how the World Cup will be experienced in the city.

The murals feature iconic figures from national and international football, both current and historical. The artists chose to pay tribute to retired legends of the sport, such as Hugo Sánchez and Pelé, as well as players of various nationalities, integrating football with scenes from everyday life.

El tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz quien siendo estudiante también fue corista de Juan Gabriel realizará un concierto el 8 de febrero, a las 17:00 horas, en el Palacio de Bellas Artes para rendir un homenaje a Juan Gabriel y José José.

En dicho concierto participan la Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes y el Estudio de la Ópera de Bellas Artes, bajo la dirección de Abdiel Vázquez.
