Mon Laferte recibió la Gaviota de Platino, el máxmo galardón del Festival de Viña del mar que se otorga en reconocimiento a la trayectoria del artista y su vínculo con el festival.
El evento fue conducido por la dupla de animadores compuesta por Karen Doggenweiler y Rafael Araneda. Los triunfadores de las categorías oficiales recibieron la Gaviota de Plata y un premio en efectivo de aproximadamente 33,900 dólares.
El Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar 2026 se realizó del domingo 22 al viernes 27 de febrero de 2026. En la Quinta Vergara en Chile, y contó con la conducción de Karen Doggenweiler y Rafael Araneda.
La parrilla de la LXV edición combinó géneros como el pop latino, rock, K-pop y música urbana: El Domingo 22 estuvieron Gloria Estefan, Stefan Kramer (humor) y Matteo Bocelli, mientras que el Lunes 23 el turno fue para Pet Shop Boys, Rodrigo Villegas (humor) y Bomba Estéreo.
El Martes 24: Jesse & Joy, Esteban Düch (humor) y NMIXX se apoderaron del escenario y el Miércoles 25 lo hicieron Juanes, Asskha Sumathra (humor) y Ke Personajes.
El jueves 27 el turno fue para Mon Laferte, Piare con P (humor) y Yandel (formato sinfónico) y el Viernes 27 para Paulo Londra, Pastor Rocha (humor), Pablo Chill-E y Milo J

Competencia Internacional (Mejor Canción): El cantante español Antoñito Molina se coronó ganador con el tema «Me Prometo», obteniendo un promedio final de 6.5.
Competencia Folclórica (Mejor Canción): La agrupación chilena A Los 4 Vientos triunfó con su canción «Valoración», siendo los más votados por el jurado y el público.
Mejor Intérprete (Folclore): La española María Peláe fue reconocida como la mejor intérprete de esta categoría.

Mon Laferte received the Platinum Seagull, the highest award of the Viña del Mar Festival, given in recognition of the artist’s career and their connection to the festival.

The event was hosted by the duo Karen Doggenweiler and Rafael Araneda. The winners of the official categories received the Silver Seagull and a cash prize of approximately US$33,900.

A finales de febrero de 2026, el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) inició el traslado del archivo personal de Octavio Paz y su esposa Marie José Tramini a las instalaciones del Centro Nacional de Conservación y Registro del Patrimonio Artístico Mueble (CENCROPAM).
Este movimiento, realizado en coordinación con el DIF de la Ciudad de México (en su calidad de albacea), tiene como objetivo principal fortalecer los trabajos técnicos de conservación, catalogación y digitalización de este acervo declarado Monumento Artístico.
Se estima que el legado suma un total de 298,965 bienes, que incluyen documentos, manuscritos, objetos personales y obras de arte. Para agilizar el proceso, el INBAL anunció la incorporación de diez nuevos especialistas al equipo de trabajo para concluir las tareas de inventario con mayor eficacia. At the end of February 2026, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) began transferring the personal archive of Octavio Paz and his wife, Marie José Tramini, to the facilities of the National Center for Conservation and Registration of Movable Artistic Heritage (CENCROPAM).

This move, carried out in coordination with the DIF (National System for Integral Family Development) of Mexico City (in its capacity as executor), has the main objective of strengthening the technical work of conservation, cataloging, and digitization of this collection, which has been declared an Artistic Monument.

It is estimated that the legacy comprises a total of 298,965 items, including documents, manuscripts, personal belongings, and works of art. To expedite the process, INBAL announced the addition of ten new specialists to the team to complete the inventory tasks more efficiently. Previously, part of the archive was located in the Marie José and Octavio Paz House (known as «La Perulera») in the Tacuba neighborhood, where the first stages of cleaning and stabilization were carried out.

La curadora mexicana Lucía Sanromán ha sido nombrada cocuradora de la 14ª Bienal de Liverpool 2027. Este nombramiento, anunciado a finales de febrero de 2026, la sitúa junto a la curadora británica Aimee Harrison para liderar la edición número 14 del festival de arte contemporáneo más importante del Reino Unido.

Mexican curator Lucía Sanromán has been appointed co-curator of the 14th Liverpool Biennial 2027. This appointment, announced at the end of February 2026, places her alongside British curator Aimee Harrison to lead the 14th edition of the UK’s most important contemporary art festival.

Sanromán currently serves as chief curator of the MUAC (Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo) at UNAM, a position she has held since 2024. She will work closely with Aimee Harrison, whose role is supported by The Ampersand Foundation.

Following its theatrical run, the documentary «Franco Battiato: The Long Journey» premiered on Rai 1 on March 1, 2026, in Italy and globally through Rai Italia.

It is not a traditional documentary, but a biopic directed by Renato De Maria and written by Monica Rametta. The story follows Battiato’s inner and professional journey, from his youth in Sicily to his creative explosion in Milan during the 1970s, exploring his spiritual quest and his collaboration with Giusto Pio. Actor Dario Aita portrays the young Battiato.
