Entre los invitados destacados estuvieron David Pablos que presentó su película En el Camino, también estuvo Juan Mora Catlett, Marta Sosa y Silverio Palacios, por mencionar algunos

Se tuvo el programa Cine Talent en el que se capacitó a 17 jóvenes talentos en diversas áreas. Se tuvieron además nueve conversatorios, ocho pláticas de negocios, se exhibieron 8 largometrajes filmados en la región y en total se exhibieron 39 películas de las cuales 16 fueron cortometrajes y ocho títulos largometrajes nacionales e internacionales, y exposiciones temáticas.

TThe first edition of the Tijuana Film Festival (FCTJ), held from November 6 to 9, concluded with the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to Héctor Villanueva, the Best Short Film Award to Gerardo del Razo’s Domingo familiar, the Northern Platform Award to Rancheros by José Rodrigo Álvarez Flores and Cómo muere un hombre by María Fernanda Carrillo Solís. Visual effects specialist Jaime Jasso and Alejandro Miranda were also recognized.

Among the distinguished guests were David Pablos, who presented his film On the Road, as well as Juan Mora Catlett, Marta Sosa, and Silverio Palacios, to name a few.

The Cine Talent program provided training to 17 young talents in various areas. There were also nine panel discussions, eight business meetings, screenings of eight feature films shot in the region, and a total of 39 films shown, including 16 short films and eight national and international feature films, as well as thematic exhibitions.

Illya Guadalupe Haro Sánchez, Municipal Secretary of Culture, announced that they are already preparing the second edition for 2026, as they see enormous potential in positioning the city as an important center for promoting the film industry in the country.

The organizers estimated an attendance of between 4,000 and 6,000 people over the four days at venues such as the Casa de la Cultura in Playas de Tijuana and Cinépolis. The feature films shown were: Peter Hujar’s Day by Ira Sachs, Hiedra by Ana Cristina Barragán, En el camino by David Pablos, Cobre by Nicolas Pereda, Llamarse Olimpia by Indira Cato, Olmo by Fernando Eimbcke, What Does That Nature Say to You by Hong Sang-soo, Vainilla by Mayra Hermosillo and La piedra roja by Jaime Jasso.

ITALIA. Murió el director de Orquesta Peppe Vessicchio

Italian musician, composer, and conductor Giuseppe Vessicchio, one of the most popular figures in Italian music for his more than 20 appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival since his debut in 1990, died this Saturday at the age of 69 in Rome from interstitial pneumonia.

The musician, who arranged music for singers such as Andrea Bocelli, Max Gazzé, Mia Martini, Elio e le Storie Tese, Ornelia Vanoni, Ron, Sergio Dalma, and Zucchero, was born in Naples in 1956 and died on November 8 at the San Camillo Hospital in the Italian capital, where he had been hospitalized for several days. The news shocked all of Italy.

The Autonomous University of Coahuila presented the 26th edition of the Armando Fuentes Aguirre “Catón” Cultural Journalism Award, recognizing journalists in the categories of print, radio, television, social impact, and career achievement.

This year, 179 submissions were received from 92 journalists from Saltillo, Monclova, Piedras Negras, the Carboniferous Region, and La Laguna, as well as eight nominations in the career achievement category. The ECOS Autumn 2025 Guitar Series, organized by the Jalisco Ministry of Culture as part of the ECOS, Music for Peace program, takes place on November 9, 16, 23, and 30 at the Arroniz Building.

During these dates, various guitar ensembles will perform. The first performance will be by the Zapotlán ensemble, directed by César Ramón Hernández Aguilar. On November 16, the ensembles from Teocaltiche and Mexticacán, directed by Arturo Carrillo Delgadillo, will perform. On November 23, the ensembles from Valle de Guadalupe and San Miguel El Alto, directed by Luis Carlos Chávez Domínguez, will take the stage. La actriz Maricarmen Vela murió, según anunció la Asociación Nacional de Actores (ANDA) este viernes 7 de noviembre. Vela nacida en Játiva España en 1937, llegó a México y se nacionalizó en 1964. A pesar de aparecer en diversas cintas cinematográficas y programas de televisión, será recordada por su participación en El Chavo del 8 y como una integrante de la ANDA que desempeñó diversos cargos en su secretaría.
