Sobriedad me estas matando la película que narra la historia de Raffi, quien a sus cuarenta años lucha por estabilizar su vida tras años de adicciones y traumas, llegó a las pantallas de México el 29 de enero.

Raul Campos director de la cinta protagonizada por Octavio Hinojosa, Mónica Dionne y Maya Zapata, compartió: “Tuve mucha suerte al poder coescribir esta película con amigos, eso te permite tener toda la confianza y la apertura para trabajar creativamente y te da un atajo para llegar a lo que quieres más rapido y tres que uno de esos amigos es el protagonista de la historia, todas esas cosas son atajos se crean codigos y una comunicación de lo que estamos buscando. Otra cosa que me mantuvo siempre enamorado del proyecto fue contar con un gran elenco, es el punto cuatro, todos son grandes actores, el hecho de poder convocarlos a un ensayo tener una lectura de guión y construirlo con ellos es lo más rico que puede experimenta al hacer cine. Me gusta la improvisación, entender la escena, pero disfruto más al ver cómo lo construyen los actores, en ensayor, a través de conversaciones. De alguna forma pusimos nuestra intimidad sobre lamesa, arriesgamos lo que somos, hablamos de cosas oscuras y que en muchos casos las personas ocultan, pusimos nuestra oscuridad para conectar con la oscuridad de los demás”.

Octavio, protagonista de la historia dijo que ya conocía a Raúl y Félix desde hace muchos años. “Hicimos la serie Sobrevivir y siempre nos quedamos con las ganas de hacer algo más. A principios de 2024 los tres teníamos tiempo de juntarnos y tenía la idea de una historia unpoco autobiográfica, historias de amigos cercanos con problemas de adicción y les propuse hacer de esto una comedia negra y ahí comenzó la aventura. Nos divertimos muchísimo en el cuarto de escritores y no había filtros entre nosotros, los cuartos de escritores son como Las Vegas, lo que pasa ahí, se queda ahí, estábamos buscando estirar la liga de la comedia lo mas que se pudiera, y en los últimos años se ha tenido miedo a la comedia, a hacer chistes cancelables, buscar como ser divertidos sin ser ofensivos”.

Campos agregó que la película se rodó principalmente en la Ciudad de México, un día en Tepoztlán y que lo más complejo fue filmarla en 17 días. “El hecho de haber ensayado y tener muy clara la historia que queríamos contar, fue un buen aliado ante el tiempo y presupuesto limitado. Esa escasez fue inversamente proporcional al talento con el que contábamos. Todo pasa de manera positiva”.

Hijojosa mencionó que al particpar en esta cinta pudo dar voz a ideas propias,” queríamos comunicar temas que nos ocupaban, esta idea de que tienes que cmplir ciertas expecdtavivas en diferentes momentos de la vida, el concepto de la felicidad, las comparaciones que haces con otras personas, la historia de un chavo recien salido de una rehabilitación, lo demas son un discurso importante que queriamos comunicar para los tres. Habla de nuestros miedos, nuestras ansiedades y nuestros sueños que son conflictos y miedos y sueños casi, casi generacionales, coincidia con nuestros amigos, los actores, todos querían sumarse porque encontraban en el proyecto una verdad que querian también contar” y agregó: “La película abrio en el FIC Morelia, luego se selecciono para Varsovia, y en Alemania, en Virginia USA y Mérida Yucatán y teníamos dudas como iba a conectar este tipo de humor con la gente, serán repelentes a este tipo de humor… la sorpresa fue muy agradable, se la tomaron muy personal, lograron conectar con el personaje por la actuación de octavio que puede ser odioso y profundamente empatico, hicimos reir y llorar un poco. Cierto tipo de humor y cierto tipo de mensaje y reflexión”.

Octavio, the protagonist of the story, said that he had known Raúl and Félix for many years. “We made the series Survive and we always wanted to do something more. In early 2024, the three of us had time to get together and I had the idea for a somewhat autobiographical story, stories of close friends with addiction problems, and I proposed making it a dark comedy, and that’s how the adventure began. We had a lot of fun in the writers’ room and there were no filters between us. Writers’ rooms are like Las Vegas, what happens there, stays there. We were looking to stretch the boundaries of comedy as much as possible, and in recent years there has been a fear of comedy, of making jokes that could be canceled, of finding ways to be funny without being offensive.”

Campos added that the film was shot mainly in Mexico City, with one day in Tepoztlán, and that the most challenging aspect was filming it in 17 days. “Having rehearsed and having a very clear idea of ​​the story we wanted to tell was a great advantage given the limited time and budget. That scarcity was inversely proportional to the talent we had. Everything turned out positively.”

Hijojosa mentioned that by participating in this film he was able to give voice to his own ideas, “we wanted to communicate themes that concerned us, this idea that you have to meet certain expectations at different times in life, the concept of happiness, the comparisons you make with other people, the story of a young man recently released from rehab; the rest is an important message that the three of us wanted to convey. It speaks of our fears, our anxieties, and our dreams, which are almost generational conflicts, fears, and dreams. Our friends, the actors, all wanted to join because they found a truth in the project that they also wanted to share.” He added: “The film premiered at the Morelia International Film Festival, then it was selected for Warsaw, and in Germany, Virginia, USA, and Mérida, Yucatán, and we had doubts about how this type of humor would connect with people; would they be repelled by this type of humor?… The surprise was very pleasant; they took it very personally, they managed to connect with the character because of Octavio’s performance, who can be hateful and deeply empathetic.
