¿Es un jinete que regresa de un viaje al inconsciente guiado no por la razón, sino por el deseo de volver a sí mismo?.. ¿Es la montaña una emperatriz dormida… una madre que espera ser redescubierta en el sueño del retorno?.. ¿Los ríos de lava que emergen de su cuerpo son sus sueños reprimidos… una viscosa sustancia nutrida de pulsión y conciencia?
Más allá del jinete y la montaña, Retorno a Itaca es el momento exacto en que decidimos volver… un paisaje que arde por dentro, una figura que espera… un tornaviaje que traza un renacimiento… lava, cielo, memoria… un jinete se detiene, algo en nosotros también vuelve…
Retorno a Itaca es una obra que no busca decorar un espacio, sino darle sentido…
«Lucía Maya’s Return to Ithaca is an inner journey made into an image… There are journeys in which the return transforms us more than the departure…
Is it a rider returning from a journey into the unconscious, guided not by reason, but by the desire to return to oneself? Is the mountain a sleeping empress… a mother waiting to be rediscovered in the dream of return? Are the rivers of lava that emerge from her body her repressed dreams… a viscous substance nourished by impulse and consciousness?
