La edición del 24 Festival de Cine Alemán se realiza del 30 de septiembre al 12 de octubre, bajo el eje temático Controversial. Las sedes en la Ciudad de México son la Cineteca Nacional el Gothe Instituto Mexiko y en Guadalajara la Cineteca FICG y el Cineforo.
En lo que respecta a Guadalajara la inauguración es el 30 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas en la Sala Guillermo del Toro de la Cineteca FICG con la proyección de la pélícula de Kamikaze 1989 (1982) de Wolf Gremm, que de acuerdo a Claus Witte director del Bezirk Goethe Zentrum de Guadalajara, se trata de un thriller cyberpunk de culto protagonizado por Rainer Werner Fassbinder, quien de hecho murió un poco antes de su estreno. Con música de Edgar Froese, fundador de la legendaria banda Tangerine Dream, esta cinta, a pesar de cumplir más de 40 años de existencia, tendrá oficialmente su premiere en México este 2025 en el marco del 24°FCA.
The 24th German Film Festival takes place from September 30th to October 12th, under the theme «Controversial.» The venues in Mexico City are the Cineteca Nacional and the Goethe Institute Mexiko, and in Guadalajara, the Cineteca FICG and the Cineforo.
In Guadalajara, the opening ceremony is on September 30th at 8:00 PM in the Guillermo del Toro Room of the Cineteca FICG with a screening of Wolf Gremm’s Kamikaze 1989 (1982). According to Claus Witte, director of the Bezirk Goethe Zentrum in Guadalajara, it is a cult cyberpunk thriller starring Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who actually died shortly before its premiere. Featuring music by Edgar Froese, founder of the legendary band Tangerine Dream, this film, despite being over 40 years old, will officially premiere in Mexico in 2025 at the 24th FCA.

In Berlin in 1942, Hilde is a member of an anti-Nazi group. She falls in love with another member, Hans. They spend a summer together until they are captured by the Gestapo and Hilde is imprisoned, eight months pregnant. This film was part of the Official Selection Berlin Film Festival – Berlinale 2024.
Rickerl / Rickerl – Musik is höchstens a Hobby | Dir. Adrian Goiginger (2023) | ESTRENO NACIONAL
En colaboración con Foro Cultural de Austria, llega la historia de Erich “Rickerl” Bohacek, quien sueña con triunfar como músico. Quiere ser un modelo a seguir para su hijo Dominik, de seis años, quien ama a su caótico padre a tiempo parcial más que a nada. Sin embargo, en lugar de llenar las grandes salas de conciertos, Rickerl recorre los pubs vieneses con su guitarra.
In collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum, comes the story of Erich «Rickerl» Bohacek, who dreams of making it as a musician. He wants to be a role model for his six-year-old son, Dominik, who loves his chaotic part-time father more than anything. However, instead of filling large concert halls, Rickerl tours Viennese pubs with his guitar.

Los miembros de la familia Lunies hace tiempo que no son una familia. Pero, ante la muerte, finalmente se reencuentran. Liss se alegra en silencio de que su demente marido Gerd se consuma lentamente. Su hijo Tom, director de orquesta, trabaja en la composición ‘Dying’ (Morir), mientras se convierte en padre de alquiler del bebé de su exnovia. Por su parte, Ellen, la hermana de Tom, inicia un romance con el casado Sebastian, con quien comparte la afición por el alcohol. The members of the Lunies family have not been a family for a long time. But in the face of death, they are finally reunited. Liss quietly rejoices as her demented husband, Gerd, slowly wastes away. This freedom is short-lived: diabetes, cancer, and kidney failure mean she has little time left. Her son, Tom, a conductor, is working on the composition «Dying» while becoming a surrogate father to his ex-girlfriend’s baby. Tom’s sister, Ellen, meanwhile, begins an affair with the married Sebastian, with whom she shares a fondness for alcohol. «Berlin Utopiekadaver» es un documental que retrata la lucha de la escena links-autónoma en Berlín frente a la gentrificación, explorando la pérdida de espacios como el Köpi, el proyecto de la Liebig 34 y el centro juvenil Potse, que han sido un refugio para la comunidad LGTBIQ+ y una vía de auto-organización social. «Berlin Utopian Remains» is a documentary that portrays the struggle of Berlin’s independent links scene in the face of gentrification, exploring the loss of spaces such as Köpi, the Liebig 34 project, and the Potse youth center, which have been a refuge for the LGBTQ+ community and a means of social self-organization. The film offers an intimate portrait of those affected, shows their daily lives through demonstrations and concerts, and questions the development of the city as a symbol of urban transformation. Adapted from the children’s book by Martin Muser, the story follows Finn, a 10-year-old boy traveling alone by train to visit his mother in Berlin. When his backpack and ticket are stolen, he ends up joining Jola, an adventurous girl, on a getaway to the sea. Together, they experience a journey full of surprises, from rock bands to an encounter with a real wolf.
GANADORES DEL FESTIVAL DEL CINE ALEMÁN EN MÉXICO
El sábado 27 de septiembre en la Ciudad de México el Festival de Cine Alemán en colaboración con Merck Group entregó el premio Kino al mejor largometraje a Fabian Stumm por la película Sad Jokes. El premio consiste en una residencia creativa en la Ciudad de México durante 2026, (incluye vuelo, alimentos y hospedaje por un mes), mientras que el premio al mejor cortometraje mexicano fue para Revolución de Natalia García Agraz. El premio otorgado por IMCINE y la Embajada de Alemania en México consite en una acreditación para asistir a un festival de cine en Alemania en 2026 (con vuelo, hospedaje y alimentos por una semana)
Hubo menciones especiales para las películas Über uns von uns Cuéntales de nosotras de Rand Beiruty y Capítulo 4. Por debajo del agua de Zyanya López Aramburo. En esta ocasión el jurado lo integró Alonso Díaz de la Vega, Astrid Rondero y Maximiliano Cruz.
On Saturday, September 27, in Mexico City, the German Film Festival, in collaboration with the Merck Group, awarded the Kino Award for Best Feature Film to Fabian Stumm for his film, Sad Jokes.
