La escena independiente de Guadalajara sigue escribiendo capítulos decisivos, y este 22 de febrero uno de ellos llevará un nombre contundente: Prohibido Obcecarse. El punto de encuentro será el Centro Cultural La Cuerda, espacio que se ha consolidado como refugio natural de las propuestas emergentes que hoy redefinen el pulso sonoro de la ciudad.

Bajo la curaduría de Luam Vázquez, la noche reunirá a además de él, a otros tres proyectos que dialogan desde distintas geografías emocionales: Mambrú, Ksiusha y D’Per. Folk introspectivo, rock alternativo y trap de conexión directa convivirán en un mismo escenario, para confirmar que la diversidad estética es la verdadera identidad de la nueva generación tapatía.

El concepto del concierto toma su nombre del primer EP de Luam Vázquez. «Prohibido Obcecarse no es solo un título: es una declaración artística. El material explora emociones que pueden nublar la claridad —relaciones, expectativas, conflictos internos— trato de proponer un recordatorio necesario para una generación que vive entre la inmediatez digital y la búsqueda constante de sentido. El mensaje es que a pesar de cualquier problema siempre puedes mantener la mente abierta a nuevas posibilidades. Además me siento muy satisfecho de estar acompañado de amigos músicos que hemos crecido juntos y que hoy se han convertido en cantautores con propuestas musicales sólidas y de mucha calidad», dijo quien también es colaborador de Balsia Producciones y vocalista de agrupaciones como la Orquesta Don Lucas y The Tostitones. El cantautor agregó que en esta velada, la música funciona como catarsis y como punto de encuentro.

Otro de los momentos clave de la velada llegará con Mambrú, banda fundada en 2020 que atraviesa una etapa de renovación creativa tras ajustar su alineación. Integrada actualmente por Oscar, Ariel, Iván y Pablo, el grupo presentará temas como Paranoia, Aléjate de mí, Madrugada y Un invierno. En la perspectiva de Oscar: «Son canciones que han fortalecido nuestra identidad dentro del circuito alternativo local, contamos con un puño de seguidores que les gustan estos temas». Al respecto, todos los integrantes de Mambru coincidieron en que este concierto representa una de las primeras oportunidades para experimentar en vivo su nueva etapa.

Por su parte, Ksiusha aporta una dimensión bilingüe y contemporánea al cartel. La cantante, que transita con naturalidad entre el español y el inglés, prepara el lanzamiento de su primer EP en inglés tras haber presentado previamente su material en español. «Desde muy pequeña, hacer música ha sido algo cotidiano, no me imagino haciendo otra cosa. Este concierto es especial porque todos los que formamos el cartel de alguna forma hemos sido testigos mutuos de nuestro crecimiento musical, desde que éramos estudiantes».

Otra de las propuestas de la noche es D’Per, artista que durante los últimos tres años ha construido su trayectoria a través de sencillos y está por anzar un EP a mediados de este año. «Me gusta el trap por la conexión que se logra con el público en el escenario. Voy incluir una serie de piezas que van de lo suave a la parte más agresiva y experimental del trap».

Guadalajara’s independent music scene continues to write pivotal chapters, and on February 22nd, one of them will bear a powerful name: Prohibido Obcecarse (Forbidden to Be Obsessed). The venue will be the Centro Cultural La Cuerda, a space that has established itself as a natural haven for emerging artists who are redefining the city’s sonic pulse.

Curated by Luam Vázquez,, the evening will bring together, in addition to Vázquez himself, three other projects that engage in dialogue from distinct emotional landscapes: Mambrú, Ksiusha y D’Per. Introspective folk, alternative rock, and direct-connected trap will coexist on the same stage, confirming that aesthetic diversity is the true identity of Guadalajara’s new generation.

The concert’s concept takes its name from Luam Vázquez’s first EP. “’No Obsession’ isn’t just a title: it’s an artistic statement. The material explores emotions that can cloud clarity—relationships, expectations, internal conflicts—and I’m trying to offer a necessary reminder for a generation living between digital immediacy and the constant search for meaning. The message is that despite any problem, you can always keep an open mind to new possibilities. I’m also very pleased to be accompanied by musician friends with whom I’ve grown up and who have now become singer-songwriters with solid, high-quality musical offerings,” said the artist, who also collaborates with Balsia Producciones and is the vocalist for groups like Orquesta Don Lucas and The Tostitones. The singer-songwriter added that in this evening, music serves as both catharsis and a meeting point.

Another key moment of the evening will come with Mambrú, a band founded in 2020 that is currently undergoing a period of creative renewal after adjusting its lineup. Currently comprised of Oscar, Ariel, Iván, and Pablo, the group will present songs such as «Paranoia,» «Aléjate de mí,» «Madrugada,» and «Un invierno.» Oscar explains, «These are songs that have strengthened our identity within the local alternative scene; we have a solid following who enjoy these tracks.» All the members of Mambru agreed that this concert represents one of the first opportunities to experience their new phase live.

Meanwhile, Ksiusha brings a bilingual and contemporary dimension to the lineup. The singer, who moves naturally between Spanish and English, is preparing the release of her first EP in English after having previously presented her material in Spanish. «Since I was very young, making music has been an everyday thing; I can’t imagine doing anything else. This concert is special because all of us on the lineup have, in some way, witnessed each other’s musical growth, since we were students.»

Another act performing that night is D’Per, an artist who has built his career over the past three years through singles and is set to release an EP later this year. “I like trap because of the connection you can make with the audience on stage. I’ll be including a series of tracks that range from the softer to the more aggressive and experimental side of trap.”
