Roger Mas y la Cobla Sant Jordi se presentan esta tarde del 1 de diciembre en el Foro FIL para compartir en versión compacta el espíritu particular de una sonoridad tejida con los timbres del flabiol, el tambori, los tibles, las tenoras, además de fiscorns, trompetas, trombón y contrabajo, la mayoría de ellos instrumentos que se han conservado a lo largo de siglos y que son característicos del baile tradicional conocido como sardana.
Mas, quien encabeza esta agrupación que inauguró el Pabellón de Barcelona de esta Feria, dijo sentirse satisfecho de presentarse en Guadalajara y compartió que desde su fundación la agrupación se ha apropiado de múltiples espacios públicos en diversas ciudades de europa y han llegado incluso a la presentarse en salas de conciertos alemanas. “Es un regalo poder estar aquí, en méxico, en esta feria del libro que es de las más importantes del mundo. Dar a conocer nuestra cultura es el mejor regalo que se nos puede dar.
El colectivo integrado además de Roger Mas por el pianista, voz y arreglista Xavier Guitó, el percusionista Jospe Pynyu Martí, y el bajista Arcadi Marcet, son parte del taller de la Fira Mediterrània de Manresa y el programa de coproducciones de la Marfà-Center de la creación musical de Girona que recibe apoyo del Generalitat de de Catalunya.

Roger Mas and the Cobla Sant Jordi will perform this afternoon, December 1st, at the FIL Forum, sharing in a compact version the unique spirit of a sound woven with the timbres of the flabiol, tambori, tibles, tenoras, as well as fiscorns, trumpets, trombone, and double bass—most of them instruments that have been preserved for centuries and are characteristic of the traditional dance known as the sardana.

Mas, who leads this group that inaugurated the Barcelona Pavilion at this year’s Book Fair, said he was pleased to perform in Guadalajara and shared that since its founding, the group has taken over numerous public spaces in various European cities and has even performed in German concert halls. “It’s a gift to be here in Mexico, at this book fair, one of the most important in the world. Sharing our culture is the best gift we could receive.” The group, comprised of Roger Mas, pianist, vocalist, and arranger Xavier Guitó, percussionist Jospe Pynyu Martí, and bassist Arcadi Marcet, is part of the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa workshop and the Marfà-Center for Musical Creation co-production program in Girona, which receives support from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Queralt Lahoz es la cantautora catalana que tomará el Foro FIL este domingo 30 de noviembre a las 21:00 horas, para ofrecer la particular fusión que hace entre el flamenco, el hip-hop, los ritmos latinos y el R&B tal y como lo mencionó: “Todos los sonidos son de muchos lugares, al final nosotros somos hijos de muchas tierras y heredamos culturas de muchos lados; en mi caso es, sobre todo, andaluza, por eso mi música suena a un abanico de posibilidades”.
La cantautora que ya se ha presentado en el Vive Latino y Pal Norte, dijo sentirse satisfecha de presentarse en Guadalajara en el marco de este encuentro literario y antes de interpretar una copla a petición de la prensa a manera de adelanto de lo que el público podrá presenciar este domingo recordó que creció leyendo autores como García Lorca, Galeano, Cortázar y escuchando música de Mereces Sosa, Rocío Durcal y Charly García que al final le han resultado fuentes inspiradoras para crear su propuesta.
Lahoz detalló que serán poco más de 20 temas los que interpretará en compañía de cuatro músicos y que además siempre trata de que su show en vivo vaya más allá de la interpretación que logra realizar en el estudio de grabación.

Queral Lahoz is the Catalan singer-songwriter who will take over the FIL Forum this Sunday, November 30th at 9:00 PM, to offer her unique fusion of flamenco, hip-hop, Latin rhythms, and R&B, as she mentioned: “All the sounds come from many places; in the end, we are children of many lands and inherit cultures from many places; in my case, it is primarily Andalusian, which is why my music sounds like a wide range of possibilities.” The singer-songwriter, who has already performed at Vive Latino and Pal Norte, said she was pleased to be performing in Guadalajara as part of this literary event. Before singing a copla at the press’s request, as a preview of what the audience can expect this Sunday, she recalled growing up reading authors like García Lorca, Galeano, and Cortázar, and listening to the music of Mercedes Sosa, Rocío Dúrcal, and Charly García, which have ultimately served as sources of inspiration for her own work.

Lahoz explained that she will perform just over 20 songs accompanied by four musicians, and that she always tries to make her live show even better than her studio recordings.

La banda manchega Love of Lesbian, logró llenar el Foro FIL anoche ante un público que no paró de bailar desde los primeros acordes de “Ejército de Salvación”.
El ánimo del concierto no tuvo propiamente un clímax, la hora y 20 minutos que la banda tocó, la alegría de los asistentes no decayó ni un minuto, la frescura de la noche, ni fría ni calurosa, contribuyó a la atmósfera.
A lo largo de poco más de 15 temas entre los que destacaron “Cuando no me ves”, “La niña imantada”, “Sesenta memorias perdidas» o “Incendios de nieve”.
La experimentación sonora, la suave distorsión de las guitarras, las melodías ascendentes son sólo algunos elementos de un gran conglomerado musical característico de esta banda con más de 25 años de trayectoria que logra encantar a quienes gustan del buen sonido indie y que prometió regresar en marzo de 2026 a Jalisco.

The band Love of Lesbian from La Mancha filled the Foro FIL last night with a crowd that danced non-stop from the first chords of «Ejército de Salvación» (Salvation Army).

The concert didn’t really reach a climax; during the hour and 20 minutes the band played, the audience’s joy never waned. The cool night air, neither too hot nor too cold, contributed to the atmosphere.

Throughout their set of just over 15 songs, highlights included «Cuando no me ves» (When You Don’t See Me), «La niña imantada» (The Magnetized Girl), «Sesenta memorias perdidas» (Sixty Lost Memories), and «Incendios de nieve» (Snow Fires).

The sonic experimentation, the soft distortion of the guitars, the ascending melodies are just some elements of a large musical conglomerate characteristic of this band with more than 25 years of experience that manages to charm those who like good indie sound and that promised to return in March 2026 to Jalisco.

Love of Lesbian es la agrupación encargada de iniciar los conciertos en el Foro FIL este 29 de noviembre en el marco de la edición 39 de la Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara, en un diálogo con la prensa previo a dicha presentación Santi Balmes, vocalista de la banda manchega, dijo estar satisfecho de regresar a Guadalajara en este contexto.
El cantautor añadió que los asistentes podrán escuchar varios de los éxitos que han marcado su trayectoria y canciones pertenecientes a su último álbum Ejército de Salvación que lanzaron el año pasado. Al respecto dijo “este álbum, fue inspirado en el amor fraterno y la empatía, más que en el amor entre una pareja, me parece que es la primera vez que abordamos esta temática”.

Love of Lesbian will kick off the concerts at Foro FIL on November 29th as part of the 39th Guadalajara International Book Fair. In a press conference prior to the performance, Santi Balmes, lead singer of the band from La Mancha, expressed his satisfaction at returning to Guadalajara in this context.

The singer-songwriter added that attendees will be able to hear several of the hits that have marked their career, as well as songs from their latest album, Ejército de Salvación, released last year. Regarding the album, he said, «This album was inspired by brotherly love and empathy, rather than romantic love. I think it’s the first time we’ve explored this theme.»
