Canacine Jalisco renovó su mesa directiva, la protesta de esta nueva administración se realizó en la Sala de Prenda de la edición 41 del FICG y en ella estuvieron además de los nuevos integrantes de este organismo y representantes del mismo a escala nacional, Guillermo Gómez Mata, presidente del encuentro cinematográfico ya mencionado y Verónica Delgadillo alcaldesa de Guadalajara.

Jonatan Guzmán es el nuevo presidente de Canacine Jalisco, tras la gestión que deja Fabiola Velázquez. Guzmán mencionó que tras 25 años de trabajar en la industria y ratificar que el trabajo en cine es un trabajo colaborativo, ha decidido conducir su gestión a partir de cuatro ejes: El primero se relaciona con lo que él llamó inteligencia de mercado que consiste en identificar capacidades y talento local para conectarlo con oportunidades internacionales, el segundo relacionado con la promoción de Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque y Zapopan como destinos importantes integrantes de industrias creativas, el tercero es la vinculación del ecosistema audiovisual regional con otros y el cuarto eje enfocado en la profesionalización constante de una industria en crecimiento.

La mesa directiva la integran la propia Fabiola Velázquez, Ana Monterrubio, José Iñesta,Verónica Guillén y Andrés Díaz, por mencionar a algunos.

Canacine Jalisco renewed its board of directors. The swearing-in ceremony for this new administration took place in the Sala de Prenda at the 41st edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). In attendance, in addition to the new members of the organization and its national representatives, were Guillermo Gómez Mata, president of the aforementioned film festival, and Verónica Delgadillo, mayor of Guadalajara.

Jonatan Guzmán is the new president of Canacine Jalisco, succeeding Fabiola Velázquez. Guzmán mentioned that after 25 years working in the industry and confirming that filmmaking is a collaborative endeavor, he has decided to guide his administration around four key areas: The first relates to what he called market intelligence, which involves identifying local talent and capabilities to connect them with international opportunities; the second focuses on promoting Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, and Zapopan as important destinations within the creative industries; the third is linking the regional audiovisual ecosystem with others; and the fourth is centered on the ongoing professional development of a growing industry.

The board of directors includes Fabiola Velázquez, Ana Monterrubio, José Iñesta, Verónica Guillén, and Andrés Díaz, among others.

El Museo de Ciencias Ambientales alberga la exposición fotográfica Ánimas, del artista Gustavo García Villa, quien a través de cerca de 20 piezas muestra el proceso creativo de creación de máscaras a partir de materiales encontrados en las playas de Oaxaca, como flores, trozos de tela y huesos.

Al cabo de cinco días de recolección y elaboración de dichos artefaktos, Villa fotografió a colaboradores que se colocaron las máscaras para producir imágenes que en su perspectiva representan la relación de la tradición con lo espiritual. La muestra permanecerá hasta el 25 de abril.

The Museum of Environmental Sciences is hosting the photographic exhibition Ánimas, by artist Gustavo García Villa, who, through nearly 20 pieces, showcases the creative process of making masks from materials found on the beaches of Oaxaca, such as flowers, scraps of fabric, and bones.

After five days of collecting and crafting these artifacts, Villa photographed collaborators wearing the masks to produce images that, in his view, represent the relationship between tradition and spirituality. The exhibition will run until April 25.

El Premo Maguey, el espacio en el que se ha dado voz y representación a trayectorias y manifestaciones artísticas de la comunidad LGTBQ+, llega este año a su aniversario 15, de ahí que a esta edición se le ha agregado el nombre de Queerceañera

La celebración incluye en esta ocasión la proyección de 16 cintas bajo esta temática y la realización de una serie de homenajes. En la lista se ha incluido a Pablo Ruiz, creador del centro nocturno Paco Paco e impulsor de Puerto Vallarta como destino LGBTIQ+, a la actriz española Lola Dueñas, C- Pher y la actriz Valentina.

Los reconocimientos incluyen la entrega de los premios Emme que han sido intervenidos por Aldo Toscano.

The Maguey Award, a platform that has given voice and representation to the artistic careers and expressions of the LGBTQ+ community, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. This edition has been dubbed «Queerceañera» (Queer Anniversary).

This year’s celebration includes the screening of 16 films on this theme and a series of tributes. The list of honorees includes Pablo Ruiz, creator of the Paco Paco nightclub and a driving force behind Puerto Vallarta as an LGBTQ+ destination; Spanish actress Lola Dueñas; C-Pher; and actress Valentina.

The awards also include the presentation of the Emme Awards, which have been redesigned by Aldo Toscano.
