De la apertura del Salón Carlos Fuentes al encuentro de Amin Maalouf con jóvenes, en el programa de eventos especiales de la FIL Guadalajara del 30 de noviembre y 1 de diciembre se entregó el Homenaje al Mérito Editorial a la Asociación de Editoriales Universitarias de América Latina y el Caribe (EULAC), continuaron las mesas de diálogo en homenaje a Mario Vargas Llosa, al tiempo que Amin Maalouf sostuvo el ya clásico Encuentro con Mil Jóvenes

En la apertura del Salón Carlos Fuentes, la Directora General de la 39 Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), Marisol Schulz Manaut, reconoció a Eduardo Mendoza como una de las figuras más representativas de la literatura de esa región y embajador de la delegación de Barcelona, quien compartió la visión que guarda de su ciudad como una entidad que ha sido escenario de acontecimientos fuera de serie, como la llegada de Aníbal, que portó desde Cártago 37 elefantes, lo mismo que una gran cantidad de acontecimientos trágicos durante la dictadura y los últimos acontecimientos políticos en las que se ha visto envuelta.

La presea la recibió su actual Presidenta, Lía Castillo Meneses; y quienes la dirigieron anteriormente: Sayri Karp Mitastein, actual Directora de la Editorial de la Universidad de Guadalajara y Juan Felipe Córdoba-Restrepo, Director de la Editorial de la Universidad del Rosario, quienes coincidieron en que las editoriales no tendrían un fin sin un público lector.

También estuvieron presentes el presidente del Grupo Municipal Junts per Catalunya; Jordi Martí Galbis y la gerente municipal, Laia Claverol.
