AGUASCALIENTES. Visitors are invited to enjoy the 31st edition of the Calaveras Cultural Festival

La mayoría de las actividades se realizan del 24 de octubre al 2 de noviembre, aunque hay un programa de actividades deportivas que se extienden hasta el 9 de noviembre

Aguascalientes celebra la edición 31 de su Festival Cultural de Calaveras del 24 de al 2 de noviembre las calles del Centro Histórico. A diferencia de ediciones anteriores en que el festival se realizana en la Isla San Marcos, este año, habrá recorridos que inician en la calle Venustiano Carranza, que continúan por el Jardín San Marcos, el andador J. Pani, la explanada de Expoplaza, la Plaza de Toros y llega a las dos Megavelarias, según anunció Mauricio González, secretario de Turismo que Aguascalientes.

González compartió que este año el lema es «Aguascalientes, Tierra de Catrinas» y que todas las actividades son gratuitas. «El funcionario agregó: «Durante estos días, el Centro Histórico de Aguascalientes se vestirá de cempasúchil, arte y tradición, mientras la icónica Catrina Garbancera cobra vida para recordarnos por qué somos la tierra donde nació una de las celebraciones más representativas de México», dijo.

CONCIERTOS

Entre los eventos que se tendrán en el Foro de las Estrellas, González destacó la presentación que hará Rocío Vallín que hará un Tributo a Mecano con sus hermanos Sergio Vallín guitarrista de Maná, Fernando Vallín, además de Jorge y el Mariachi Mi nombre es México.

El sábado 25 la fiesta arranca con la presentación de Matute. El concierto será gratuito, en la Explanada San Marcos, y el acceso se abrirá a partir de las 6:00 p.m., para dar inicio al show a las 9:00 de la noche.

El domingo 26 en la Explanada San Marcos se presentan varios DJs, un evento gratuito que hará vibrar a todos desde las 15:00 a las 23:00 horas. Los beats estarán a cargo de Criminal Sound, Roz, Rhomel, Stef Larrondo, Franz Colmer entre otros talentos.

Durante la tarde-noche, se presentará Catrina Runway: Moda Inmortal, una pasarela que fusiona moda, tradición y música electrónica. Las catrinas deslumbrarán con vestuarios impresionantes, maquillaje de fantasía y creatividad, creando una experiencia única donde arte, moda y ritmo se encuentran en honor a la tradición mexicana.

También se tendrá el Encuentro Nacional de Danzón se realizará del 24 al 26 de octubre en el Foro Catrina.

ALTARES VIVIENTES, CONVITES, MOJIGANGAS Y DESFILES

De manera contigua al Foro de las Estrellas estarán los altares vivientes protagonizados por el grupo Callejuelas Teatro en el horario siguiente. 25 de octubre de 18:00 a 20:00 horas, 26 de octubre de 19:00 a 21:00 horas y viernes 31 de octubre de las 18:00 a las 20:00 horas. Uno de los altares monumentales estará dedicado a Ernesto Alonso.

El convite de mojigangas y comparsas se realiza durante este periodo de las 19:00 a las 20:00 horas, excepto el lunes 27 y el viernes 31 de octubre. Recorrido: desde la esquina del andador J. Pani y la calle Manuel M. Ponce (a un costado del Jardín de San Marcos) hasta la Megavelaria. Solo el domingo 26 de octubre, el recorrido tomará una ruta especial por Nieto, finalizando en el Jardín de las Jacarandas.

El evento más emblemático del Festival Cultural de Calaveras. Este año, el desfile recorrerá las principales calles del centro histórico: iniciará en la calle 28 de Agosto, seguirá por Madero y concluirá en la Plaza Patria. De 19:00 a 21:00 horas, el corazón de la ciudad se llenará de color, música y personajes que rinden homenaje a José Guadalupe Posada. Habrá carros alegóricos, comparsas, catrinas gigantes y el público vibrando al ritmo de la tambora.

PABELLONES DE ACTIVIDADES RECREATIVAS Y EXPOVENTA

Los visitantes tendrán oportunidad de disfrutar del Pabellón del Pan en la Megavelaria todos los días del festival de las 08:00 a las 22:00 horas, mientras que el Pabellón Infantil tendrá un horario de 09:00a 19:00 horas. En esta área Maricela Acosta Herrera presidenta de la CANACO de Aguascalientes destacó la presencia del pabellón Hecho en Aguascalientes que concentra productos de empresas formales

LOS EVENTOS DEPORTIVOS SE REALIZAN DEL 24 DE OCTUBRE AL 9 DE NOVIEMBRE

El programa incluye una sección deportiva que se realiza del 24 de octubre al 9 de noviembre coordinado por el Instituto del Deporte del Estado de Aguascalientes (IDEA) conformada por 15 eventos deportivos como una función internacional de boxeo profesional el 24 de octubre en el Gimansio Norberto Mena, que se transmitirá por ESPN, mientras que el 25 y 26 de octubre se realizará el Torneo Medieval de Calaverasen los salones del Foro 3C.

También se tendrá el maradón del 26 de octubre y la realización de la edición 52 del Campeonato de Fisicoconstructivismo Mr. Ferrocarrilero y Srta. Bikini en el Gimnasio B de la Ciudad de portiva, además del Torneo Nacional de Beisbol de Calaveras U11 del 25 de octubre al 1 de noviembre.

Se realizará el Torneo de Calaveras Tiro con Arco Indoor del 31 de octubre al 2 de noviembre y el Tazón Azteca de Tocho Bandera en donde participan más de cien equipos en el Deportivo Ferrocarrilero.

Habrá función de lucha libre a las 20:00 horas del 6 de noviembre en el Palenque de la Feria Nacional de San Marcos.

Por otro lado, la edición 10 del Festival de Calaveras de Natación Artística se realizará del 5 al 9 de noviembre en la Alberca Olímpica y el Torneo de Pesca Calaveras 2025 en la presa Plutarco Elías Calles en San José de Gracia. Mayor información en la página de Facebook IDEA Ags.

Aguascalientes will celebrate the 31st edition of its Calaveras Cultural Festival from November 24th to 2nd in the streets of the Historic Center. Unlike previous editions, when the festival was held on San Marcos Island, this year there will be tours starting on Venustiano Carranza Street, continuing through the San Marcos Garden, the J. Pani walkway, the Expoplaza esplanade, the Bullring, and reaching the two Megavelarias, as announced by Mauricio González, Secretary of Tourism for Aguascalientes.

González shared that this year’s theme is «Aguascalientes, Land of Catrinas», and that all activities are free. The official added: «During these days, the Historic Center of Aguascalientes will be decorated with marigolds, art, and tradition, while the iconic Catrina Garbancera comes to life to remind us why we are the land where one of Mexico’s most representative celebrations was born,» he said.

CONCERTS

Among the events taking place at the Foro de las Estrellas, González highlighted the presentation by Rocío Vallín, who will perform a tribute to Mecano with her brothers Sergio Vallín, guitarist of Maná, Fernando Vallín, as well as Jorge and the Mariachi Mi Nombre es México.

On Saturday the 25th, the party kicks off with a performance by Matute. The concert will be free and will take place on the San Marcos Explanada. Entrance will open at 6:00 p.m., with the show starting at 9:00 p.m.

The National Danzón Gathering will also take place from October 24th to 26th at the Foro Catrina.

LIVING ALTARS, TRADITIONS, MOJIGANGAS, AND PARADES

Next to the Foro de las Estrellas, there will be living altars featuring the Callejuelas Teatro group at the following times: October 25th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, October 26th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Friday, October 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. One of the monumental altars will be dedicated to Ernesto Alonso.

The Mojiganga and comparsas parade will take place during this period from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, except on Monday, October 27th and Friday, October 31st. Route: from the corner of J. Pani Walkway and Manuel M. Ponce Street (next to the Jardín de San Marcos) to the Megavelaria. Only on Sunday, October 26th, the parade will take a special route through Nieto, ending at the Jacaranda Garden.

The most emblematic event of the Calaveras Cultural Festival. This year, the parade will travel through the main streets of the historic center: it will begin on 28 de Agosto Street, continue along Madero Street, and conclude at Plaza Patria. From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the heart of the city will be filled with color, music, and characters paying tribute to José Guadalupe Posada. There will be floats, comparsas (comedies), giant catrinas (carnival figures), and the public vibrating to the rhythm of the tambora (drums).

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY PAVILIONS AND EXHIBITION SALE

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the Bread Pavilion at the Megavelaria every day of the festival from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, while the Children’s Pavilion will be open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. In this area, Maricela Acosta Herrera, president of CANACO (Aguascalientes National Council of Agricultural and Forestry Companies), highlighted the presence of the Made in Aguascalientes pavilion, which showcases products from established companies.

The traditional tram will offer the special seasonal Tierra de Catrinas tour, while everyone sleeps from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

SPORTS EVENTS TAKE PLACE FROM OCTOBER 24 TO NOVEMBER 9

The program includes a sports section, held from October 24 to November 9, coordinated by the Aguascalientes State Sports Institute (IDEA), consisting of 15 sporting events, including an international professional boxing event on October 24 at the Norberto Mena Gymnasium, which will be broadcast on ESPN. The Calaveras Medieval Tournament will be held on October 25 and 26 in the halls of Foro 3C.

The Marathon will also take place on October 26 and the 52nd edition of the Mr. Ferrocarrilero and Miss Bikini Bodybuilding Championship will be held at Gymnasium B in the city of Sport City. The Calaveras U11 National Baseball Tournament will also take place from October 25 to November 1.

The Calaveras Indoor Archery Tournament will be held from October 31st to November 2nd, and the Aztec Flag Football Bowl will feature more than 100 teams from the Deportivo Ferrocarrilero.

There will be a wrestling match at 8:00 p.m. on November 6th at the San Marcos National Fair Arena.

The 10th edition of the Calaveras Artistic Swimming Festival will be held from November 5th to 9th at the Olympic Pool, and the Calaveras 2025 Fishing Tournament will be held at the Plutarco Elías Calles Dam in San José de Gracia. More information is available on the IDEA Ags Facebook page.

La edición 53 del Festival Internacional Cervantino (FIC) que tiene como invitados de honor al Reino Unido y Veracruz, ya está en marcha. El programa incluye la realización de poco menos de 230 actividades con sede en Guanajuato y extensiones en otras ciudades del país, protagonizadas por poco más de 3 mil 400 artistas procedentes de 31 países, entre los que destacan la recién ganadora del premio Nacional de Teatro en España, Angélica Liddell, la cantante argentina Nathy Peluso, el fundador de Gorillaz, Damon Albarn con su proyecto musical Africa Express, la mexicana Julieta Venegas o el artista Sam Eastmond hasta el 26 de octubre.

Durante la inauguración realizada el viernes 10 de octubre en el Museo Iconográfico del Quijote, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, secretaria de Cultura del Gobierno de México, dijo: “Es un encuentro que está reconocido no solo por su calidad y su programación, sino por la capacidad de reinventarse y porque coloca a las culturas de México en un punto central de esta programación”.

El espectáculo inaugural titulado Fandango Monumental: fiesta de son y raíz congregó a poco más de 160 músicos, desde agrupaciones como Caña Dulce y Caña Brava, Mono Blanco, Son de Madera y Ensamble Monumental de Arpas Andrés Huesca, Trío Guardianes de la Huasteca, Cantores del Son y el Ensamble de percusiones de Xalapa, entre otros además de niños de Semilleros Creativos.

En el marco de este encuentro se entregó la Presea Cervantina 2025 a Huemanzin Iyolocuauhtli Rodríguez Méndez (1974-2025) y la dramaturga en lengua tsotsil Petrona de la Cruz.

El programa incluye 45 exposiciones entre las que destacan “Wildlife Photogapher of the Year” al 53 FIC. “Kahlo sin fronteras”, curaduría a cargo de Cristina Kahlo y Javier Roque, y “Diego Rivera y su relación con Veracruz”, del artista plástico Roberto Salmerón, en el Museo Casa Diego Rivera, con las que se conmemoran los 50 años del recinto. También se puede disfrutar de “La mayólica de Gorky González” y “Dolores Porras. Taller de Cerámica”, curaduría a cargo de Cristina Faesler; “Diálogo entre los Grandes Maestros de Arte Popular de Guanajuato y Veracruz”, con curaduría de Rocío Blázquez, en el Museo del Pueblo de Guanajuato,

Además, en las galerías Hermenegildo Bustos y Polivalente y el Corredor Tomás Chávez Morado albergan las muestras “Archivo de la desobediencia”, con curaduría de Martin Bauer, y “Gráfica bajo La Ceiba”, con el curador Santiago Pérez García.

The 53rd edition of the International Cervantino Festival (FIC), with the United Kingdom and Veracruz as guests of honor, is now underway. The program includes just under 230 activities based in Guanajuato and extensions to other cities across the country, featuring just over 3,400 artists from 31 countries, including Angélica Liddell, the recent winner of the National Theater Award in Spain; Argentine singer Nathy Peluso; Gorillaz founder Damon Albarn with his musical project Africa Express; Mexican artist Julieta Venegas; and artist Sam Eastmond, which runs until October 26.
During the inauguration held on Friday, October 10, at the Museo Iconográfico del Quijote, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, Secretary of Culture for the Government of Mexico, said: «This event is recognized not only for its quality and programming, but also for its capacity to reinvent itself and for placing Mexican cultures at the center of this program.»

The inaugural performance, titled «Fandango Monumental: Fiesta de Son y Roots,» brought together just over 160 musicians, including groups such as Caña Dulce y Caña Brava, Mono Blanco, Son de Madera, and the Andrés Huesca Monumental Harp Ensemble, the Guardianes de la Huasteca Trio, Cantores del Son, and the Xalapa Percussion Ensemble, among others, as well as children from Semilleros Creativos.

Within the framework of this event, the 2025 Cervantes Prize was awarded to Huemanzin Iyolocuauhtli Rodríguez Méndez (1974-2025) and Tsotsil-language playwright Petrona de la Cruz.

The program includes 45 exhibitions, including «Wildlife Photographer of the Year» at the 53rd FIC. «Kahlo Without Borders,» curated by Cristina Kahlo and Javier Roque, and «Diego Rivera and His Relationship with Veracruz,» by visual artist Roberto Salmerón, at the Diego Rivera House Museum, commemorating the museum’s 50th anniversary.
