ARTE.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Province of Buenos Aires (MAR), located in Mar del Plata, is currently hosting a joint exhibition by artists Elba Bairon and Paola Vega. This large-scale presentation fosters a dialogue between different artistic languages and ways of perceiving space.
Curated by Sofía Dourron, the exhibition—which opened on July 4 and runs until October 31—explores the relationships and tensions between painting and sculpture. It highlights contrasts such as vibrant color versus white, as well as concepts of proximity and distance. The works of both artists create a journey where materials, forms, and the exhibition space itself play a central role.
The museum’s program also features Las máquinas deseantes (Desiring-Machines), an exhibition produced by the art collective Pleamar and curated by Agustina Rinaldi. Bringing together works by artists such as Candela del Valle, Joaquín Fargas, and Miguel Harte, the show takes concepts developed by philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari as its starting point.
The exhibition reflects on the connections between the human, the natural, and the artificial, proposing alternative ways to envision the future beyond dystopian representations.
The MAR Museum is located at the intersection of Félix U. Camet Avenue and López de Gomara Street in Mar del Plata. Admission to the exhibitions is free.
Regular opening hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Publishers’ Fair (FED) will change venues for its 16th edition in 2027. The publishing event will move to the Buenos Aires Convention Center (CEC) in Recoleta, following sustained growth that prompted the organizers to seek a larger space.
This decision follows the most recent edition—held at the Art Media Complex in Chacarita—which drew over 40,000 visitors. During its five-year run at that venue (2022–2026), the fair expanded its reach until it hit the limits of the available infrastructure.
The move represents a significant expansion: the FED will go from approximately 6,000 square meters of exhibition space to around 22,000 square meters spread across three underground levels of the CEC. With this new space, the organizers plan to welcome additional national and international publishing houses and imprints that were unable to participate in previous editions due to space constraints.
Víctor Malumián, the creator of the FED, also confirmed that the event will remain free to attend—a hallmark of the fair since its inception.
The Convention Center has the capacity to host around 5,000 people simultaneously and features a plenary hall, offices, meeting rooms, and a 1,600-square-meter foyer. The complex also includes an 18,000-square-meter outdoor park, connected to the surrounding area of the University of Buenos Aires Law School and Thays Park.
The organizers bid farewell to the Art Media Complex with a message of gratitude for hosting the event over five editions. For 2027, the FED is embarking on a new phase defined by expanded space and the opportunity to include more publishers in one of Argentina’s most popular literary gatherings.
