CELEBRIDADES.

Kim Jong-un’s health recently returned to the center of international attention after rumors circulated on social media and in international news outlets regarding a potential severe brain hemorrhage, a possible coma, and even his alleged death in a hospital in Beijing, China.

In response to this speculation, North Korean state media released photographs of the leader visiting an exhibition of clothing and footwear in Pyongyang on October 19, where he appeared accompanied by his daughter. The publication of these images—following an 11-day absence from public view—helped to dispel the rumors. Officials and delegates linked to the regime dismissed the reports as false.

The leader’s temporary absence also reignited questions regarding political succession in North Korea. Among the names drawing the most attention are his sister, Kim Yo-jong—who has gained prominence within the political apparatus—and his daughter, Kim Ju-ae (approximately 13 years old), whose increasing presence at official events has fueled speculation about a potential future role in the country’s leadership.

While questions regarding succession persist, Kim Jong-un has strengthened military cooperation with Russia—led by Vladimir Putin—which, according to reports, includes logistical support and North Korean involvement in drone-related operations. Furthermore, the country has advanced the development of strategic infrastructure, such as facilities linked to its missile program and border bridges connecting to China and Russia.

Although the official images helped to put an end to reports of his death, they do not, in themselves, constitute an independent medical assessment of his state of health.
