La literatura mexicana está de luto. El poeta, ensayista, cronista e investigador Vicente Quirarte falleció este martes 11 de agosto, a los 72 años, en la Ciudad de México. La noticia fue confirmada por su familia, El Colegio Nacional y la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, instituciones de las que formó parte activa.

Reconocido como uno de los grandes escritores de la literatura mexicana contemporánea y como un entrañable “poeta de la ciudad”, Quirarte dedicó buena parte de su obra a explorar la memoria, la historia y las calles de la capital.

Autor de más de 60 libros, transitó por la poesía, el ensayo, la narrativa y el teatro. Entre sus títulos destacan Elogio de la calle, Sintaxis del vampiro, Razones del samurái y Bisturí de cuatro filos.

A lo largo de su trayectoria recibió importantes reconocimientos, entre ellos el Premio Xavier Villaurrutia, el Premio Universidad Nacional y el Premio Nacional de Artes y Literatura 2024. También fue investigador y profesor de la UNAM.

Hasta ahora no se ha informado la causa de su muerte. La Academia Mexicana de la Lengua realizará este miércoles una guardia de honor en su memoria.

Como Joven Emprendedor, fue reconocido Juan José Leaño, fundador de PARCO, mientras que Ana Eunice Zepeda Solís recibió el galardón Yo Soy Cámara por su liderazgo empresarial e institucional.

En su mensaje, Arroyo Navarro destacó que “Jalisco tiene una enorme ventaja: su gente”, y subrayó que el desarrollo requiere inversión, seguridad, agua, energía y conectividad. También llamó a mantener la colaboración entre empresas, gobierno y sociedad.
